Vietnam : Day 11 “Ba’na Hill: The City of Clouds”

The receptionist called us porkers.🐽 Why? I don’t know. “Don’t go by wheels” it’s too far, you’re going to spend 1 hour and a half because of the bad conditions of the roads, and traffic too! It’s dangerous”, she said. “It’s better to call a taxi…look, here, I have number!”

WRONG! The roads were in excellent condition, so I don’t know why she was tripping’ about the roads. It ain’t Ukraine sweetheart. Or maybe Vietnam is like the Ukraine of Asia, and China is the dominant brother, like Russia is to Ukraine.

It took us 40 minutes to get there and it was easy to find. Also, there was a free parking for motorbikes. 😏 Nice try, receptionist girl.

Honestly, knowing that the entry fee is $25/person, I didn’t feel like spending another $25 on the taxi. But that’s just me.

There was a cable gondola that brings you all the way up to the top of the mountain at about 1,400 meters. Up at the top, the city of clouds.

Also, a giant theme park that was surrounded by a rainforest.

This was like an asian version of Disney Land. It was packed with people and I’ve never seen so many people in one place! I couldn’t help but feel a bit claustrophobic. 😥 It was like Tokyo. From an aerial view, we probably must have been looking like 2 white dots in an Asian sea of people. Many people, especially kids, said hello to us because we clearly stuck out like a sore thumb. Also, many asked to take selfies with us, which was pretty cool. 😎 They probably have never seen Westerners before.

After a while, I felt a bit dizzy. It was time to reach the city’s level 2 ground before I faint like a nancy. There was another cable gondola taking us to the French village.) This sounded comforting. Then we arrived at Park Business Model. This place looked like a replica of Hogwarts but for Asians. It really felt like the school of witchcraft and wizardry. I’m laughing while I’m typing this. 😂

I see Hogwarts

But there was a twist, instead of rooms where you can wave your wand and have magic appear, most of the places were occupied with video games. Yup. The rest of the place were restaurants, cafes, and shops. I was a bit disappointed there were no roller coaster rides.

I was surprised that some restaurants were serving Eastern European food like Ukrainian food and a “Kavkaz” restaurant! The main point of this was to introduce the idea of european influence to the Middle class views who can’t afford to go to Europe. So they built an artificial Europe.

Kavkaz Restaurant

Coming from my experience from other theme parks such as Orlando, Disney Paris, and California parks, this park was pretty basic. I mean, the location was pretty kick ass for a theme park but sadly, there wasn’t much to offer besides the view. And, maybe the food but everyone has their own taste, no pun intended.

Besides the theme park, the clouds were so pure and you could almost touch them. The air was fresher than those spring rolls I had last night! And the panorama view I saw was breathtaking, although it’s ironic because I was standing on top of a mountain with pure fresh air.
