Day 35: Laos

It was a last minute plan but we managed to catch the 12:30 bus to Luang Prabang and managed to take the 12 hour long ride. And the journey was horrible! Everybody had to share their “bed”.

As we reached the border I noticed Laos was still a communist dictatorship with only party. People from Laos were much more poorer than in Cambodia. They don’t have proper roads. Only these small narrow roads full of holes. The people lived in wood houses in the jungle.

The two biggest cities are Luang Prabang: a village.

Population: 10,000

Vientiane – 300,000 people

It’s really hard to know exactly because many people live in Laos without papers. The whole country is just mountains and forests. And some traditional tribes even use polygamy.
